Services

As you consider making the call to start therapy, you may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, afraid, or anxious. I want to reassure you that your call to me will be answered with warmth and kindness.

Our first contact will be a free 15-minute phone call to identify what brings you to therapy, answer any of your questions, and to make sure you are ready to schedule your first appointment. Please leave me a detailed message with your name and call back number on my confidential voicemail:  585-642-1709

Our first scheduled appointment is a 75-minute Intake Assessment session where we will clarify your needs and begin to process what you'd like to achieve in our work together.

Our regularly scheduled individual psychotherapy appointments are 55-minutes sessions.

After many years working in an outpatient mental health clinic where patients had had to wait months until their next appointment, I have made it my private practice priority to keep weekly availability a possibility to all of my patients. How often we meet is based on your needs. I can see you within a week.

You will need to pay for the session at the time of the appointment. I accept HSA, FSA, and credit cards. I am an Out-of-Network provider. If your health insurance plan offers Out-of-Network benefits, you may receive reimbursement for our sessions. I offer courtesy billing and upon request, I will submit claims electronically to your insurance for reimbursement.

About Me

I graduated from San Diego State University with a Master's in Social Work in 2006. I've worked as a Behavioral Coach throughout San Diego County with families and youth in their homes. I was a School Social Worker in Coronado, CA before moving to Rochester, NY.

I moved to Rochester in 2010 and began my work as an individual and group psychotherapist at the University of Rochester's Strong Behavioral Health Older Adults Clinic. I earned my Clinical License and "R" Privilege (LCSW-R) which allows my services to be reimbursed by insurance companies. With eight years of experience leading the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Anxiety Management Groups at that clinic, I earned the Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) credential.

In 2017, I accepted the opportunity to lead Resilience Groups within a school for students who’ve experienced adversity and trauma. I am trained and certified as a Mindful Schools Educator which aligns with my style as a therapist. I am a certified HeartMath Coach and I use these evidence-based techniques within the school to provide group interventions that support teachers.

In 2020, I completed EMDR Training. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing is a psychotherapy that allows healing from emotional distress that comes from disturbing life experiences. As an EMDR Therapist, I help patients experience deep healing that shines light on the source of suffering in a direct, yet gentle, way.

In 2023, I completed Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) Training. DBR is a psychotherapy that works at the brainstem level to access the origin of the physiological shock from a traumatic experience. This transformational approach unblocks the brain’s natural healing process and allows deep emotional healing to begin.

I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and a member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA).
